SMELLS LIKE PAINT is a series that originated from a previous one: Body Parts, which was painted between 2003 and 2004. After 15 years, I felt the need to revisit it, to experiment with it in order to breathe a second life into it. This experimental journey involved adding several layers of paint, triggering a formal transformation of the works that transitioned from figuration towards a kind of abstraction. In Smells like paint, the past and present coexist in harmony. The multiple layers of paint and diverse textures convey the intricacies of our minds and how memories endure, despite the passage of time.
