MEMORY PRINTS is about earthing and conceptualizing memories, archiving them through a cleansing process of abstraction. The reiterated black patterns surged from the remaining bits of dull personal analogue photographs that I couldn’t bring myself to throw away. Thus, I did some collages on paper and later tore off the glued pictures, which revealed numerous patterns. These appear as an intuitive language of biomorphic abstraction; they present themselves as the vestiges of those stories.
Beneath these patterns lay a recollection of thoughts, ideas, and particularly images that I sift from my own reality and surroundings. Through layering, intertwining different materials and techniques, I transform those representations into paintings. The outcome is a collection of abstract and unsubstantial memories, traces of intimate yet unidentified stories.
